2K Acrylic Paint Manufacturers

2K acrylic paint is a very high gloss and durable vehicle paint that avoids the need for a top coat lacquer, ideal for complete resprays on commercial vehicles. We can supply 2K acrylic paint for commercial and industrial colours and variants, including a full range of RAL and British Standard paint colours.

We manufacture a hard-wearing, versatile paint which is stone chip and petrol resistant once fully cured. This paint will not dry without the use of 2k hardener and 2k thinners.

2K acrylic paint is fast-drying with a high gloss and good colour retention that is resistant to water, corrosion and mild chemicals.

Please note, 2K acrylic paint should be sprayed using a compliant air-fed mask.

Whatever your 2K acrylic paint requirements, we are here to help and advise on the best solution for your individual needs. If you need any advice please call us on 01902 428 482 or email at post@blackcountrypaints.co.uk. We will be more than happy to assist.

    FAQs

    1. What is 2K acrylic paint?

2K acrylic paint has two main components: the paint and the hardener. The paint is the colour, whereas the hardener ensures cures well and is hardwearing.  This is widely used in the automotive industry as it gives a tough durable finish. However the correct spray booth equipment and RPE must be used when using this product as it is isocyanate curing

    2. Does 2K acrylic paint need primer?

Yes, 2K acrylic paint typically requires primer before using the actual paint. We recommend our 2K acrylic primer, which is much more durable than the 1K.

    3. Is 2K paint acrylic or enamel?

2K paint is typically made using acrylic or polyurethane. Whereas, 1K paint is usually oil and solvent-based.

    4. How many coats of 2K acrylic paint should I use?

We recommend at least two coats of 2K acrylic paint with a 24-hour drying time. This ensures there are no patches, the colour is vibrant and it will provide the most strength.

    5. How long does it take for 2K acrylic paint to dry?

You should wait at least 24 hours for 2K acrylic paint to be dry to the touch. However, we recommend waiting up to one week before using the surface or item regularly.
